ATTORNEY PROFILES

Jordan B. Yeager

Jordan received a B.A. from Cornell University (1989) and a J.D. from The American University, Washington College of Law (1992).

He is a member of the bars of Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia, various U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

He serves on the Advisory Board of the National Voting Rights Institute, as a cooperating attorney with the Center for Constitutional Rights, and is a former member of the National Executive Committee of the National Lawyers Guild. Jordan is an active member of the National Employment Lawyers Association and the National Police Accountability Project.

Prior to forming Boockvar & Yeager, Jordan was an associate with Sugarman & Associates in Philadelphia, PA, and before that he was with Klimaski, Miller & Smith in Washington, D.C.

Jordan has been a frequent lecturer on employment law and related topics, and has served as successful counsel in several recent groundbreaking cases, including Estate of Smith v. Marasco, 318 F.3d 497 (3rd Cir. 2003)(recognizing constitutional claim for state-created danger)(lead counsel); Belitskus v. Pizzingrilli, 343 F.3d 632 (3rd Cir. 2003)(overturning state electoral filing fee system as unconstitutional)(co-counsel); Hogan v. City of Easton, Civil Action No. 04-759, 2004 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 16189, 11 Accom. Disabilities Dec. (CCH) 11-149 (E.D. Pa., August 17, 2004)(first case within federal district to recognize reasonable accommodation claim against municipal defendants in the context of law enforcement activities)(lead counsel); and Romano v. Bucks County Water & Sewer Auth., Civil Action No. 03-2296 , 2004 U.S. Dist. LEXIS 4919 (E.D. Pa., March 25, 2004) (first case within federal district to recognize right to a jury trial for a whistleblower retaliation claim)(lead counsel).

In the Fall of 2006, American Lawyer Media named Jordan a "Lawyer on the Fast Track."  He was one of only 38 attorneys state-wide to receive the award.

Kathryn Boockvar

Kathy received a B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania (1990) and a J.D. from The American University, Washington College of Law (1993).

She is a member of the bars of Pennsylvania and New York, various U.S. District Courts, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, and the U.S. Supreme Court.

Prior to forming Boockvar & Yeager, Kathy was a staff attorney with Lehigh Valley Legal Services, with offices in Easton, PA and Bethlehem, PA, and prior to that she was a staff attorney with Northern Pennsylvania Legal Services, with responsibility for all of Wyoming and Susquehanna Counties in Northeastern PA.   Before moving to Pennsylvania, Kathryn was National Policy Associate for Legal Action Center in Washington, D.C.

Kathryn is the author of Beyond Survival: The Procreative Rights of Women with HIV. 14 Boston Col. Third World L.J. 1 (Winter 1994), which is contained in the select bibliography prepared by the Secretary-General of the United Nations concerning Implementation of the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (2000).

Kathryn's practice is currently focused on Wills, Trusts & Estates, Employment Law, and Social Security Disability.

In 2005 and 2006, American Lawyer Media identified Kathryn as a "Rising Star" within the Pennsylvania bar.
